Lorraine Schuchart is the founder and CEO of Prosper for Purpose, a Cleveland-based B Corp communications firm. B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems. Lorraine’s public relations firm serves clients across North America who are working for social or environmental impact. After attending WED in New York in 2017, Lorraine accepted the invitation to bring the event to Ohio. She is honored to serve as chair for both WED Cleveland and WED Ohio.
The Women’s Entrepreneurship Day flagship event is held every November at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City and live-streamed to connect with an international audience, reaching an estimated 1.4 million people. In 2017, Lorraine Schuchart, founder and CEO of Prosper for Purpose, was invited to attend the flagship event. Afterwards she agreed to serve as the first ambassador for Ohio.
Prosper for Purpose is a public relations and fundraising firm that helps clients achieve social or environmental impact. Lorraine felt that WED aligned with Prosper’s values. She, along with co-chair Lisa Sands, the Prosper for Purpose team, and an advisory board of committed supporters of women across a variety of sectors, have committed to launch the first Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Cleveland this November.
WED Cleveland will bring established and aspiring women entrepreneurs together to share ideas, spark action and create opportunities for businesses to grow while achieving social impact. An overarching goal of WED Cleveland will be to help women entrepreneurs build companies that can do good and do well, distinguishing WED from other entrepreneurial and leadership seminars.
