Kunal Sood

Co-Chair of the WED Fellows Accelerator

Kunal is deeply passionate about transforming the lives of a billion people in the world using technological innovation along with the power of storytelling. From working with underserved populations in the slums of Mumbai to collaborating with the United Nations and Rotary International’s End Polio Campaign, Kunal has an unwavering commitment to making a difference from the bottom to the top of the pyramid. Kunal is the Curator and Executive Producer of TEDxUNPlaza at the United Nations in New York and serves as a CCARE Fellow at Stanford University. He completed his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, GSP at Singularity University, and his M.Phil. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Carolina Pina

Carolina is a passionate advocate for social and high-impact entrepreneurs around the world. After earning her MBA from Rice University, she returned to Miami to join Commerce Bank as Corporate Banking Officer. In 2007, she joined Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management to head its satellite operation in Miami. As Special Advisor, she is creating an ecosystem to support entrepreneurs at Kellogg and help strengthen Miami’s emerging startup community. Originally from Venezuela, she continues to be an activist on important causes related to her home country.


Laura Muranaka

Laura Muranaka, age 28, hails from Bainbridge Island, WA, and draws inspiration from stories, particularly stories that educate and ignite new ideas. Laura studied business and literature, graduated Phi Beta Kappa, went on to law school, and now lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Flourishin is her initiative using creativity and common sense to offer young women a real-world financial education. Money gives you options. When your options expand, the possibility of living an impactful life becomes exponentially greater.

Cosima Gretton

Cosima is the founding director of AXNS Collective, a science communication company bringing artists and scientists together, funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Arts Council. After graduating from the University of Oxford with a degree in Experimental Psychology, she studied medicine on the fast track program at King’s College London. She was first author on a paper in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, and worked with hospital teams in South Africa, Ecuador and Spain. She is now taking a year out before her final year and has been working with startups.


Kamila Staryga

Kamilla Graduated from University of Cambridge and Singularity University. Product Manager at Google in Mountain View. Part of the founding team of Campus London. Start up mentor, advisor and Seedcamp and Startup Weekend judge. Launched with Polish President a program for bringing Polish start ups to Silicon Valley. TEDx speaker. Passionate about future of medicine and reinvention of healthcare to move it into proactive monitoring and prevention of diseases. Involved in early stage work on the platform for non-invasive, automatic and simple health monitoring for women. Love ballet, biking and her family.


Shaherose Charania

Shaherose is the CEO and Co-Founder of Women 2.0. She began her career working at various startups in Silicon Valley as the lead for Product Management, Design and Marketing at Ribbit (British Telecom), Talenthouse and JAJAH (sold to Telefonica/O2). She is an active advisor to early stage technology startups through her idea lab, Founder Labs which she founded in 2010 and sits on the Board of Directors for Good World Solutions and Hacker Dojo. Her life purpose lies in driving positive change through innovation. Shaherose holds a B.A. in Business Admin from The University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business.

Julielynn Wong

Julielynn Wong, MD, MPH, is a Harvard-educated, award-winning social entrepreneur, physician, innovator, educator, and journalist. Dr. Wong trained in public health and preventive medicine and serves as an academic lecturer. She worked at the Skoll Global Threats Fund to build “Flu Near You,” the world’s largest crowd-sourced flu tracking and vaccine locator platform. Dr. Wong trained in space medicine at NASA Johnson Space Center and has created ten 3D printable designs of surgical instruments for space missions. She founded the Center for Innovative Technologies and Public Health, reported for ABC World News, and is the recipient of the Harvard University Knox Fellowship, the Aerospace Medical Association Young Investigator Award, and the Canadian Medical Association Award for Young Leaders.

Taira Soo

Taira Soo

As Founder/Creative Director of Soopergirl, Taira is a designer with a strong passion to empower young girls to embrace who they are and express themselves. Having immigrated from Bangkok, Thailand to the states at a very young age, Taira found solace in the arts. After a career as a professional dancer, she took a leap of faith and embarked on her own business venture as a children’s clothing designer. Soopergirl celebrates tweens embracing their individuality, empowering girls to stand up, have a voice and express the “Soopergirl” within them. Soopergirl believes in giving back and supporting the arts in our schools.
